Statement against Racism from the Elders of Ridgeway

Following the shocking murder of George Floyd on 25th May in Minneapolis and the events that have followed, we must join the millions around the world who are speaking out. We offer our sincere condolences to his family at this, the most difficult of times. We condemn the sin of racism in the strongest possible terms and seek to see it routed out and eliminated wherever it occurs in the world.

We do not speak from any sense of self-righteousness and acknowledge our own weakness. We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and that reconciliation with God is only possible through the sacrifice of Jesus for all, without distinction.

Our prayer is that all public officials will follow the example of many who have sought to calm the current situation, stand with those who are persecuted and bring justice for them.
